The NIAR Composites & Structures Lab is looking for a hard-working student to help with tracking sheets, processes, organization, sending checklists, and so much more.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Communication and cooperation with coworkers
Reading and understanding of Tracking Sheets and processes
Familiarization with ASTM Standards
Creating Excel spreadsheets to organize and keep track of dates and processes
Assist staff with certain responsibilities that are required
Sending checklists to other internal groups dictating what needs to be done
Delivering extracted specimens to other internal groups
Handling/managing extracted specimens and various information
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage workflow based on expectations
Ability to work independently and along with other colleagues
Critical thinking skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Must be available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week
Ability to work outside of normal work hours and weekends, if necessary
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
