Job Summary
Ensures institutional compliance in all areas of financial aid policy and procedures in accordance with federal, state and institutional policies, regulations, and directives. Coordinates student advising services and activities for a department. Advises students concerning their academic plans, progress, and academic and career goals in order to assist students in making personal education decisions and meeting graduation requirements.
Essential Functions
Serves as the internal compliance research expert and provides advisory services to the department, ensuring compliance with applicable statutes and regulations. Administers internal and external audits. Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of all state, federal and institutional requirements. Identifies, monitors and informs the department of the impact of trends and regulatory changes. Develops and ensures policies, procedures, and consumer information are accurate, current, and in compliance with federal, state and institutional requirements. Identifies areas of vulnerability and risk and develops and implements corrective actions to manage and mitigate risk, and to improve compliance practices. Provides leadership and coordination between various areas of the department and campus to ensure adherence to compliance and quality standards. Develops and conducts staff training related to financial aid compliance issues and regulatory changes as they occur. Coordinates informational updates via in-person or online communications with stakeholders. Assist with all aspects of eligibility certification, payment and deal monitoring, and required reporting. Coordinates of all incoming prospect student-athlete tracking, materials and documents.
Job Duties
Assists the Associate Athletic Director/Compliance in facilitating NCAA, College Sports Commission, American Conference and Wichita State University rules compliance. The duties include, but are not limited to:
Support student-athlete financial aid and scholarship awards.
Assist with all aspects of the implementation and use of Teamworks and Teamworks/ Compliance+Recruiting
Contribute to initial eligibility certification, progress-toward-degree eligibility certification, and transfer eligibility certification
Support with the education of coaches, staff, student-athletes and constituents regarding NCAA compliance
Facilitate with rule(s) interpretations, waivers, medical hardships, and violations reporting
Assist the Director of Athletics and Associate Athletic Director/Compliance with implementation of the College Athlete Payment System (CAPS)
Aid in the implementation and monitoring of NIL Go.
Assist the with yearly NCAA reporting, including APR, GSR, Sports Sponsorship Form and EADA Report
Perform other athletic-related duties assigned
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in higher education financial aid, academic advising, collegiate athletics compliance, or related field.

- Ability to connect with a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree and/or Juris Doctorate Degree
- Two (2) years of experience in NCAA Division I athletics compliance
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
