Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
- Assist with creating, editing, and sending recruitment and event emails to prospective students
- Perform data entry and record updates in the admissions' CRM system (Slate)
- Help prepare and process outgoing mailings and promotional materials
- Provide administrative support for the Admissions Communications team as needed
- Collaborate with staff and other student workers to ensure high-quality, timely work
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and proofreading
- Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in communications, marketing, public relations, or higher education
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Positive, professional attitude when working with staff, students, and campus partners
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes (training provided)

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
