Summary of Responsibilities

Primary academic responsibilities will be in the candidate’s area of expertise. The candidate will also contribute to the cross-disciplinary needs of the Department, including but not limited to (a) teaching graduate courses in the counseling program (b) maintaining a record of scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications and presentations, and © providing service to the profession, community, department, college, and university.

Minimum Education
  • An earned doctorate from a CACREP-accredited university in counseling, and/or counselor education or ABD (all requirements for the doctorate must be completed by August, 2018).

  • 4. Evidence of communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues.
  • 5. Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and professionals.
Required Licenses, Certificates & Registrations
  • License-eligible as a school counselor, professional counselor, or clinical professional counselor in Kansas.

  • 1. Experience as a school counselor and/or clinical mental health counselor.
    *2. Evidence of successful teaching experience i.e. teaching evaluations and/or a statement of teaching philosophy, in counselor education and/or experience in supervising counseling practicum and internship students.
  • 3. License-eligible as a school counselor, professional counselor, or clinical professional counselor in Kansas.
  • 4. Evidence of communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues.
  • 5. Professional identity as a counselor educator as evidenced by affiliations with either/or the American Counseling Association (ACA) or the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).

The office is located in Hubbard Hall on the main campus. The job requires work in a typical office environment, inside with meetings. A computer with access to the internet is provided.
