Summary of Responsibilities

Responsible for teaching and student advising in the undergraduate and graduate programs and services. Participates in curriculum development and evaluation. Maintains academic and professional expertise.

Minimum Education
  • Master degree or Postmaster certificate or DNP degree with a clinical specialization from an accredited CCNE or NLNAC nursing program;
Minimum Experience
  • Recent experience as clinician in a health care system/agency.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer competency.
  • Commitment to diversity.
Required Licenses, Certificates & Registrations
  • Eligible/hold RN license and APRN license in the state of Kansas (required)
  • Current national certification in area of practice (preferred)

Position Description Information

Preferred Education
  • DNP from a CCNE accredited program, PhD in nursing or related field,
  • Board certified in an area of nursing expertise.
Preferred Experience
  • Teaching experience in graduate nursing education.
  • Experience in a collaborative interprofessional team environment.
  • Record of two years or more of successful clinical experience.
  • Experience and ability to teach online courses.
Regular Hours of Work Generally M-F, some evening and weekend hours expected

Consistent with teaching in typical classroom, office and clinical environments and preparation of on-line course content.

Proposed Job Duties

Responsibility / Duty

Assume teaching responsibility for didactic and clinical courses. Teach in both
online and face-to-face delivery methods as appropriate. Assist partnerships
with agencies to promote student clinical experiences and student projects.
Assist with DNP projects/residencies. Participate in student recruiting,
admission/progression processes, and advising. Teach across undergraduate
and graduate programs as appropriate. Participate in inter-professional
teaching/learning activities. Participate in curriculum evaluation and the
development of program expansion including external funding opportunities.
Maintain knowledge of applicable curricular guidelines and curricular evaluation
