Job Story
This applied learning position is tied to an internship with Dzanc Publishing that the department has been offering to advanced undergraduate and graduate students (MA and MFA) for several years. The two main English program areas, Literature and Language and Creative Writing, are immediately tied to the publishing industry and the practice of publication, and many of our students are interested in careers in this field. There are no reliable paid learning or internship experiences related to publishing in the Wichita area (indeed, most good publishing internship opportunities are on the East Coast and unpaid). Students in this internship do a substantial amount of work expected in a publishing internship but have never had the opportunity for pay.
