Job Story
The Reverse Engineering Lab is looking for employees to work 2ND SHIFT (between the hours of 2:30 pm-11:00 pm) to assist with the 3D scanning and processing of scan data. 3D Scanning equipment will be used to obtain accurate 3D data from various aircraft to support programs within NIAR. There will also be tasks of reading CAD Drawings to be able to locate components and properly position scan data in CAD software.
Job Duties
· Operating 3D Scanners and diligently capturing the geometry of aircraft parts.
· Work may contain some lifting and moving heavy parts up to 50 lbs.
· Working with 3D Scan data, processing, and positioning pieces in software relative to adjacent aircraft parts.
· Report daily activities to the supervisor at the end of each shift worked.
· All equipment and software training needed for this job are provided through the lob.
Additional Requirements
The job position will require both manual operation of various scanning equipment and software processing tools of scan data.
Most scanning will require being on your feet most of the day and actively maneuvering around large items. Some scanning will require positioning scanners under, inside, and above aircraft and can require a good amount of physical activity to lift and move scanners and accessories into location and sometimes will be in tight spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
The position will also require computer skills for processing scan data and keeping the data organized.
· Excel spreadsheet experience
· Excellent written and oral communication is a must
· Must be detailed oriented
· Must be able to work independently and in groups
· 20hrs per Week required and up to 30hrs per Week allowed during regular semesters
· Must have reliable transportation to and from work daily
· Working in 3D modeling software, Reading drawings, and blueprint reading
