Job Story
The NIAR CAD/CAM Lab is seeking a student with strong marketing and communication skills to support marketing and content development. This role involves reviewing and refining written materials, ensuring brand voice consistency. In addition to marketing responsibilities, the position will assist with general coordination tasks at the Hub for Advanced Manufacturing and Research (HAMR) and provide support for special events as needed.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
This position is ideal for students interested in gaining real-world marketing and communications experience. Under supervision, students will write and refine copy, ensure brand voice consistency, and learn to correlate marketing strategy with content deliverables across print, digital, and event channels.
· Ensure written consistency and adherence to NIAR brand standards.
· Review and edit content for presentations, signage, and marketing materials.
· Ensure alignment with organizational communication standards.
· Write and rewrite copy for promotional and internal use.
· Collaborate with design and videography teams on integrated campaigns.
· Assist with social media content creation and scheduling.
· Support event setup and basic facility tasks.
· Provide feedback on messaging clarity and tone.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements
Students must have their own transportation, as some local travel between facilities may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Strong writing and editing skills.
· Understanding of brand voice and tone.
· Experience with content creation for digital platforms.
· Basic knowledge of marketing principles and strategies.
· Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
· Interest in storytelling and audience engagement.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
