Job Story
The NIAR CAD/CAM Lab is seeking a student graphic designer to develop visually compelling materials for presentations, print collateral, and digital signage. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain brand consistency. In addition to design responsibilities, the position assists with general coordination tasks at the Hub for Advanced Manufacturing and Research (HAMR) and provides support for special events as needed.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
This position is ideal for students interested in gaining hands-on graphic design experience. Under supervision, students will develop and critique visual concepts, produce print and digital assets, maintain brand consistency, and connect marketing strategy to design deliverables.
· Ensure visual consistency and adherence to NIAR brand standards.
· Design presentations, print collateral, and digital signage assets.
· Review and refine visual content for clarity, accessibility, and impact; incorporating feedback from cross-functional stakeholders as needed.
· Prepare production- and presentation-ready print and digital files.
· Manage design assets, maintain version control, and organize shared libraries.
· Assist with event setup/teardown and basic facility coordination at HAMR.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
· Strong understanding of layout, typography, and color theory.
· Experience creating print-ready files.
· Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
· Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
· Familiarity with photography, video editing (Premiere Pro), and motion graphics (After Effects) is a plus.
Students must have their own transportation, as some local travel between facilities may be required.
