Job Story
The NIAR Adv Tech Lab-Aerospace System is looking for a student assistant to help with performing static and cyclic testing on different materials and use different software to evaluate structures.

Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties
Utilize MTS load frames/Structural setups to perform static and cyclic testing on composites and non-composite materials. Utilize advanced software (Multi-Purpose Test ware (MPT), Profile Editor, AeroPro) to create constant amplitude and spectrum load profiles to evaluate the structures. Fixture fabrication/ utilize specialized equipment such as Digital Image Correlation, Acoustic Emission, Etc.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
Majoring in Aerospace Engineering
Can work a minimum of 15 hours per week

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
